My sister's coming....and we're going to get in trouble

 Just a few short days and I get the pleasure of seeing these two lovely people. Words cannot express the excitement! It's been almost a whole YEAR since we last saw eachother. New Year's 2012 to be exact! At another sister's wedding :)

Shopping. It's on the agenda. After a drive up to LA, dinner out, a night in the hotel. Any ideas on where to go? Shiny things? A must. And maybe some new clothes too. Trouble comes from spending too much but it will be oh-so-worth it. Can't wait.

yes, i'm still here

Quick update...
life is good. less than 10 lbs to go and i'll be at a weight i haven't been since high school. I bought a size Medium shirt at Gap the other day! And size 10 shorts for the summer! Work is slowing down for the summer, i think its a trick to get us all ready for school and the holiday season. But a nice change all the same. I am taking on more and more responsibilities there...it's great to have a manager who challenges me to do better! I am going to do the full inventory count at the end of this month all by myself while the boss is on vacation :) We moved! My dear sister who I live with bought a house this spring! Thankfully its in the same neighborhood, so not quite the trek as the BIG move to California almost 2 years ago. And yes, I will try to post some pictures soon :) 

I'm so excited...

About more than one thing!
1--that promotion I was hoping for? Yeah, it did happen.
2--I bought a new pair of pants last weekend...and they're one size smaller :)
3--I get to fly back to WA in a couple weeks to see one of my oldest and dearest friends get
married.
Happy Spring! This year is going to be great..I just know it.

Interview

Monday was a good day at work. Yes, it is nice to have a day where it's not so busy, I am scheduled with people I like to work with, and its just simple. Oh yeah, and I had an "assessment interview" which is the first step in becoming a shift supervisor. Something I've been wanting since starting at Starbucks! I met with a store manager from another store in our district. He was so nice and easy to speak with...didn't feel like an interview. It was encouraging to know that Starbucks is so great to work for--that the potential for growth in a career is there. I just need to be motivated to take it! I am now just waiting for the word and spot in our store and hopefully will hear soon. So happy! And to top it all off--a cousin from WA was visiting San Diego and took the time to drive out from downtown and stop for a visit. All in all, a great start to my week.

Promotion? Yes, please!

Well, it's almost official. After a year and a half, I might be promoted at work! I've been wanting to become a shift supervisor for awhile and this week the wheels have been set in motion. I have to interview with another store manager first, then proceed with training at my store and we'll see what happens from there. I am so ready/nervous/excited to see where this takes me.
